SNAP 2015 (and Notes from my Blogger Roundtable)

Snap logo
I wasn’t actually going to do a SNAP recap post this year but when I asked on my Facebook page if people wanted one, the majority said yes.. so here it is.  (Bet you didn’t realize the content of this blog was reader-interactive.. did ya? Well, if you aren’t following my Facebook page, you aren’t getting a vote!)

Anyhoo..

This was my first SNAP.  I’ve been to Haven a couple times and wrote about it before, but now that I am doing more craft projects I thought SNAP would be a good fit.. and it was.   The vendors were great, the sessions were great.. the food was mediocre, but there was lots of candy to make up for it.

I participated in the Secret Sister program and had a fun filled weekend of opening boxes of clues until I finally figured out my secret sister was Candace of Lucky Scarf

I also set a big milestone and learned the basics of crocheting with Kim of Everything Etsy.

And I met a lot of other great bloggers and learned a lot about newsletters, YouTube,  ad networks, and more..  But I'm not going to talk about all of that.  I've talked about the impact blog conferences have on my blog in the past, and SNAP was no different.

I do want to give a quick shout out to a few of the other bloggers I spent a lot of my weekend with.

I flew out with a bunch of awesome local San Francisco Area bloggers:
Adrienne from Chic California
Kim from Tidbits and Twine
Randi and Carol from Frugelegence

And I roomed with three great girls:
Melissa from Silhouette School
Katie from View from the Fridge
Jessi from Practically Functional

But the highlight of the weekend was definitely co-leading my first ever blog conference session with Becky of Organizing Made Fun.

We led a round table discussion of how to make the Blogger platform work for you:

It was great to be surrounded by a group of other Blogger bloggers.. and I was thrilled to even see Shelley from House of Smiths at the table!

If you couldn't be at SNAP but wondered what we talked about, here is the information we wanted to cover in that session:
We weren’t able to get to all of it, so I wrote up my notes on all the topics and created a page with a little information on debunking blogger myths and optimizing your blogger blog.  Eventually I am going to write up more detailed tutorials and add on a bunch of additional information about SEO on Blogger, but for now that is still a LOT of content to take in.

Finally, I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Becky who was the reason I even considered leading a session.  I learned so much from her this weekend and she is a riot!  I can't wait to see her again at Haven this summer.

If you have any other questions about the Blogger platform, or our talk, SNAP or anything really.. feel free to leave them in the comments, email me, or find me on Facebook.
